The World of The Uncommon Heartfelt TouchHealing Sessions
with Kev Bailey
Working with KevWhat can you expect from a session?
Every session is different because every person who comes to see me is different. We’ll begin with what’s going on for you and what has brought you to me. From there, I work intuitively, responding to what emerges during our time together. You’re always welcome to ask questions and let me know what feels right for you.
THERE’S NO SET FORMULA.The session unfolds from where you are, what you need and what we discover together.
Kev's Healing ToolboxDifferent tools.
One individual
approach.
Over the years, I’ve trained in and worked with a wide range of healing practices and techniques. I think of these as the tools in my toolbox — different ways of working that may become part of your session.
You don’t need to know which one you need or choose a particular type of healing before you come to see me. I draw on my experience to choose which tools may be useful as we work together.
My toolbox continues to grow as I learn, develop and explore different approaches to healing. Below, you can explore some of the practices I work with and how they may form part of a session.
MY HEALING TOOLBOX INCLUDES...Energy Healing | Kinesiology | Shamanic Healing | Purple Ray Therapy | Sound and Vibration Healing | Flower Essences | Angel Cards | Crystal Healing | Reiki Healing, Training and Attunements | Life Coaching | Chakra Balancing | Relaxation and Meditation Evenings | Toning | Spiritual Counselling Sessions | Relationship Healing and Guidance[01. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Reiki Healing
Those who use Reiki regularly often describe feeling more joyful, lively and energised — almost as if their batteries have been fully charged. Within Reiki practice, this is understood as supporting the body's own energy, helping to release energetic blockages and encouraging a greater sense of vitality, deep relaxation and balance.
Central to Kev's approach is the understanding that no one part of the body exists independently. Rather than concentrating only on the place where a symptom or difficulty appears, Reiki is approached as whole-body work. Physical discomfort, periods of illness and experiences such as stress, anxiety or low mood can all affect how we experience ourselves as a whole, so attention may be given across the body rather than exclusively to one particular area.
Kev believes that receiving Reiki regularly can help maintain a sense of energetic balance and support the body's natural processes of rest and renewal. Sessions vary according to the individual and what presents itself, rather than following exactly the same experience each time.
Reiki alongside conventional healthcare
Reiki is also used by some people as a complementary practice alongside conventional medical care, including during periods of medication, recovery from surgery or other treatment. Kev sees Reiki as supportive work rather than an alternative to appropriate healthcare. People may experience relaxation, comfort or an increased sense of wellbeing during challenging periods, although experiences vary and Reiki is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
For Kev, Reiki is ultimately about supporting the whole person — creating space for relaxation, energetic balance, greater self-awareness and personal growth.
[02. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Kinesiology
Originally developed by American chiropractor George Goodheart, kinesiology is a non-invasive, holistic therapy which aims to support the body's natural capacity for healing. It works by communicating with the body's energy system through gentle muscle testing and verbal questioning.
This style of therapy is based on the premise that issues or imbalances within a person — or their respective energy system — can be reflected through the physical body, and that one imbalance may influence another. As a result, kinesiology takes a broader approach, looking at the person as a whole rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms.
The key tool used to communicate with the body is muscle testing. A kinesiologist will typically apply light pressure to a particular muscle, commonly in the arm or another limb, and observe the body's response. Within kinesiology, these responses are used to explore potential imbalances and help guide the practitioner towards appropriate correctional techniques.
For Kev, muscle testing can become a way of asking questions and allowing the body's responses to help guide the direction of the session. Rather than relying only on what can be understood consciously or expressed in words, it offers another way of exploring what may be contributing to an imbalance and where attention might be useful.
What emerges through this process can then inform the wider work. As with Kev's other modalities, kinesiology does not necessarily sit in isolation — insights gained through muscle testing may lead him to draw upon other tools and techniques within his healing practice as the session unfolds.
Muscle testing is gentle and non-invasive and should not cause pain or discomfort. Sessions are generally carried out fully clothed, and the work can be adapted to suit the individual where necessary.
[03. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Energy Therapies
Energy healing, similar to kinesiology therapy, works with the subtle energy systems of the body. This method of healing aims to encourage the flow of energy in and around the body, restoring balance at both an inner and outer level and supporting the body's natural capacity for self-healing.
The practitioner works by channelling universal energy to the client. Unlike approaches that require the client to actively do or achieve something, energy healing can be a very receptive experience. While the work is taking place, the client is invited simply to sit or lie comfortably, relax and allow the session to unfold.
Kev works intuitively, responding to what he perceives within the client's energy rather than following an identical process each time. Attention may be drawn to particular areas or energetic imbalances as the session develops, with the work becoming individual to the person and what presents itself at that time.
Through my years of practising this style of healing and from the feedback I have received, clients have described a wide range of experiences. Some have felt the pleasant sensation of energy moving in or around their body. Others have noticed changes in body temperature, tingling or other subtle physical sensations, while some experience the energy visually as colours.
Not everyone experiences energy healing in the same way. Some people notice very distinct sensations, while for others the experience may simply be one of deep relaxation, stillness or greater awareness of themselves. There is no particular sensation that someone needs to experience for the session to have meaning.
The experience varies from person to person and from session to session.
[04. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Purple
Ray Therapy
The Purple Ray is a distinctive form of energy work using a high-frequency electrical device whose origins reach back to the pioneering experiments with electricity and the human body of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Through specialised glass electrodes, the device produces its characteristic violet glow and a gentle electrical sensation at the surface of the body. Different electrodes can be used to work with particular areas, creating an unusual and highly focused experience.
The Purple Ray emerged from the early development of high-frequency electrotherapy, influenced by Nikola Tesla’s experiments with alternating and high-frequency electrical currents in the 1890s. Related therapeutic devices were subsequently developed and manufactured in Europe and America during the early twentieth century, when electricity was being actively explored for its possible applications to health and wellbeing.
Kev incorporates the Purple Ray intuitively within his wider healing practice, using it where an area of the body appears to need particular attention or support. Rather than treating it as a standalone therapy, he works with it alongside his broader understanding of energy, balance and the body’s own capacity for healing.
The experience itself is quite unlike many of the other practices in Kev's toolbox. The glass electrode makes contact with the body, creating a distinctive combination of gentle sensation, warmth and violet light. Different shaped electrodes allow Kev to work with different areas, while the intensity of the device can be adjusted according to the individual and how it is being used within the session.
Tactile, atmospheric and unmistakably unusual, the Purple Ray brings together physical sensation and energetic exploration — continuing a much older curiosity about the relationship between electricity, energy and the living body.
[05. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Crystal Healing
Crystal healing is a vibrational healing system that uses crystals and their individual energetic properties. At the level of energy, everything — including ourselves — is understood within this practice to vibrate at different frequencies.
Crystals may be placed on or around the body, where they are used to interact with the subtle energetic environment of the client. Different crystals are traditionally associated with different qualities and may be selected according to what arises during the session.
Kev works with crystals intuitively, choosing and positioning them in response to the individual rather than following a fixed arrangement. A particular crystal may be introduced to work with an area that has drawn his attention, while others may be used together as part of the wider energetic work taking place throughout the session.
Crystal healing can be a deeply relaxing process. People may choose to explore it during periods of stress, anxiety, low mood, tiredness or difficulty sleeping, as well as more generally as a way of creating space for rest, reflection and energetic balance.
Within crystal healing, crystals are also used in relation to the body's energy centres, or chakras, with the intention of encouraging greater balance within these systems.
Some people experience crystal healing as a sense of warmth, stillness, clarity or emotional steadiness; others may simply notice that they feel deeply relaxed. As with all of Kev's healing modalities, experiences vary from person to person, and the work is complementary rather than a substitute for appropriate medical care.
[06. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Nutrition
What we eat and how we nourish ourselves can play an important part in our overall wellbeing. Alongside my healing practices, I offer dietary and supplementation advice, recognising that everyone has different needs, circumstances and ways of living.
I believe in looking at the whole person rather than focusing on one area in isolation. As part of my approach, I use kinesiology and muscle testing to explore possible nutritional imbalances and consider where dietary changes or supplementation may be helpful. This gives us another way to explore your individual needs alongside your existing diet, lifestyle and overall wellbeing.
I'm a distributor for Lamberts Healthcare, a UK company specialising in vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements. I also attend their continuing professional development courses to expand my knowledge and keep learning about developments in nutrition and supplementation.
Lamberts places an emphasis on quality ingredients, responsible formulation and nutritional research. Having access to their educational resources and technical information helps me stay informed about the products I work with.
As with all the practices in my toolbox, my approach is individual. Dietary and supplementation advice may form part of our conversations where appropriate, alongside the other ways I work to support you.
[07. FROM THE TOOLBOX]Shamanic Healing
Shamanic healing works through spiritual journeying. During a session, the practitioner journeys on your behalf, seeking insights around a particular area or situation to support the client's healing process.
Clients will often arrive with an idea of what they believe they need to work on or where they are experiencing difficulties. However, what presents itself through the journey may offer a different perspective or bring attention to something unexpected. The work is therefore not necessarily limited to the issue that first brought someone to the session.
Shamanism takes place at a spiritual level which, particularly in modern Western society, we can become disconnected from within the demands of everyday life. Shamanic practice creates space to step beyond that everyday perspective and reconnect with different dimensions of ourselves.
Rather than approaching the work solely through conscious thought or analysis, the journey can bring forward images, symbols, experiences or insights that offer another way of exploring what is happening. What emerges will be individual to the person and the particular journey undertaken on their behalf.
Kev approaches each journey without trying to determine in advance what should appear or what the answer should be. Part of the practice is allowing the journey to unfold in its own way, paying attention to what presents itself and bringing those observations back into the work with the client.
Insights may feel immediately meaningful or develop gradually as the individual reflects on and integrates their experience. It is common for client and practitioner to check in during the weeks following an initial session to explore what has emerged. Some clients may then choose to return periodically as part of their ongoing exploration.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHERYour session isn't limited to one approach. These are just some of the tools I may draw upon. During your session, I might work with one or combine several, depending on what comes up and what feels right for you. The tools may change. The focus is always you.
BEYOND THE TOOLBOXHealing is about
more than
the tools I use
My approach to healing comes from a belief that our experiences — the easy ones and the difficult ones — can have something to teach us. I believe in soul contracts and often describe Earth as a school: a place where we have opportunities to learn, grow and develop. Part of my work is helping you explore what may sit beneath recurring patterns — old beliefs, conditioning, experiences or emotions you may still be carrying — and what you’re ready to release or see differently.
The tools I use are part of that process, but they’re not the whole of it. Healing is something we work on together.
My role is to support and guide you, while you remain an active part of your own process.
